The origins: the Premiata Distilleria G. Fabbri

The bond between Fabbri and the world of spirits has historic roots. In 1905, Gennaro, the founder of the Fabbri company, acquired an old grocery store with a wine cellar in Portomaggiore, in the province of Ferrara and set up the "Premiata Distilleria Liquori G. Fabbri".

With the help of his sons, Aldo and Romeo, and an ingenious sales promotion system, the visibility of Gennaro’s products soon reached beyond the local area and won over an increasing number of fans.

Primo Maggio, a cordial liqueur, Amaro Carducci and Vitrov, an egg and marsala-based liqueur rapidly became established names on the market, despite fierce competition, thanks to the care Gennaro took over the labels and his firm belief in innovative advertising techniques.

Just a few years later, the company moved its premises to Bologna where the company is still based today.
